This Memorial Day Weekend, there are tons of ways to celebrate an extra day off from work. Most will celebrate it ingesting enough beers and grilled meats to feed an impoverished village. Others will be lucky enough to travel to some of the top tier music festivals happening all over the country. If you aren’t one of those people flocking to a big time festival this weekend, fear not of missing out. There are still super heady parties going down right here in Boston.

I remember the first days of my love of music. I can still feel the nascent rush of a new song, unknown notes and chords and ideas flowing into my brain. I remember my dad carefully tuning the dial on his Panasonic receiver, the matte-black set wiring patchy signals to wooden-boxy Yamaha speakers. I remember that vibe, man! To a child, this was indistinguishable from magic. As an adult, the feeling miraculously remains.
