Bambounou’s Centrum Tour Wraps Up in Boston

This Memorial Day Weekend, there are tons of ways to celebrate an extra day off from work. Most will celebrate it ingesting enough beers and grilled meats to feed an impoverished village. Others will be lucky enough to travel to some of the top tier music festivals happening all over the country. If you aren’t one of those people flocking to a big time festival this weekend, fear not of missing out. There are still super heady parties going down right here in Boston.

We are firm believers that the only cure for a serious bout of the meat sweats is a good ol fashion rave. That's why we invited Jéremy Guindo Zegiestowski, better known as Bambounou, to provide us with an afterhours treatment of dark, spacey techno.

Bambounou, along with close friend French Fries, are trailblazers for a prominent generation of French producers who specialize in a hybrid mix of techno and bass. With releases on both 50 Weapons and ClekClekBoom, his productions manage to seamlessly incorporate techno drum loops with vibey house samples. His dj sets display a similar range, blending from peaktime slappers to minimal techno cool downs without much warning.

Even though it's hard to put his sound into words, he'd prefer we didnt try at all. “I don’t like to be categorized. If people say I’m doing something I always think that it’s bullshit. I’m just making music,” he said in a recent interview.

Bambounou will be bringing his Centrum Tour to a conclusion this Saturday, May 23rd. The party is at a private and currently undisclosed location from 12-4am.
